Practicing patent and trademark law since 1988, Mr. Kilyk is one of the founding members of Kilyk & Bowersox. Mr. Kilyk has represented numerous large corporations in the intellectual property area. Prior to establishing Kilyk & Bowersox, Mr. Kilyk worked as an attorney for Finnegan, Henderson for over 6 years where he practiced all aspects of patent law including patent litigation and prosecution and has been involved in preparing pleadings, taking/defending depositions and arguing in part in patent litigations in Federal court. Mr. Kilyk has worked at the Sughrue firm in Washington, D. C. as well where he also gained patent prosecution and litigation experience. Mr. Kilyk holds a B.A. degree in chemistry from Lehigh University (1986), and a J.D. degree from Catholic University (1989). He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and Pennsylvania Bar, and is also admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and before the USPTO.
Also, for over 6 years, Mr. Kilyk was a part-time Law Professor and co-taught a Patent Law course at American University, Washington College of Law and previously at Catholic University (Columbus School of Law).
Len is a founding member of the firm. He has been working in the field of intellectual property law since 1987 and has litigated patent and trademark lawsuits in many different jurisdictions. Mr. Bowersox has represented clients from start to finish in litigation before the International Trade Commission. He enjoys all facets of intellectual property law, spending most of his time dealing with patent prosecution, freedom-to-operate investigations, and advising clients in a wide range of intellectual property matters involving high-level technologies. Mr. Bowersox supervises all of the firm’s trademark matters. Mr. Bowersox is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, in all state courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and in the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Mr. Bowersox graduated cum laude from the District of Columbia School of Law in Washington, D.C. in 1995 and was on the school's Law Review. Mr. Bowersox received a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of Virginia in 1986.
Practicing patent law since 2011. Mr. Repper is an associate attorney with Kilyk & Bowersox. Mr. Repper holds a B.S. degree in biology from Christopher Newport University, and a J.D. degree from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law. Mr. Repper has experience with patent preparation and prosecution in the mechanical, chemical, and biotechnology areas. His practice includes drafting and filing patent applications, patent prosecution, and providing legal opinions.
