Mr. Kilyk is a founding member of the firm. Admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, before all state courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Graduated Catholic University, Columbus School of Law- May 1989 and Lehigh University where he received a B.A. in Chemistry in July 1986. Previously employed at Sughrue, Mion et al. for over two years and Finnegan, Henderson, Farabow et al. for over six years. Mr. Kilyk has been working in the intellectual property law area since 1987. Mr.Kilyk has litigated various patent cases in Federal courts and has written and prosecuted many patent applications in a variety of technologies. Mr. Kilyk also has significant experience in negotiating and writing license and technology transfer agreements.
For over six years, Mr. Kilyk was also an Adjunct Professor of Law at American University, Washington College of Law, where he co-taught patent law. Mr. Kilyk has also lectured on patent law at a variety of seminars hosted by the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Japanese Patent Law Association, and American Chemical Society. He has also lectured to companies regarding intellectual property matters.
Mr. Kilyk is an avid commercial winemaker and sporting clays shooter and enjoys his small winery and farm known as Granite Heights Winery in Warrenton, Virginia, where he maintains a commercial winery and vineyard.
